The Ginger Exorcisms” is a series of drawings created during a single night in December 2024, at a moment when heartbreak had reached its sharpest edge. Two separate entanglements with two different red-headed men had collapsed within months of each other, leaving me in a state of humour, anger, longing and absurdity all at once. I picked up my pastels and let the images arrive before language could intervene.

 

The creatures, limbs, teeth and odd little dramas emerged instinctively: part erotic, part comic, part feral purge. They were later lightly reworked in 2025, after I returned from a period of ritual practice and healing, allowing the drawings to become talismans of closure.

 

The series sits within my wider practice of blending drawing, myth and ritual as tools for emotional alchemy. These works mark the end of a difficult chapter and the reclaiming of play, desire and inner fire.
